Sarah-Jane joined Dementia Oxfordshire in March 2023, after taking early retirement from the NHS, having working for 25+ years as an Ambulance Paramedic and Emergency Care Practitioner within the local area.
Her previous experience in meeting and treating patients in the community for pre-hospital and emergency care, made her realise there are a lot of families and carers who need additional non-clinical help and advice for their loved ones.
“Having retired from the Ambulance Service, I still wanted to engage with people in the community and see my role as a Dementia Adviser as an ideal opportunity to continue to do this. I consider it a privilege to be able to make contact with families to offer some help and support and to ensure as many people as possible continue to live well with dementia whilst staying an integral part of their community.”
