Rose joined Dementia Oxfordshire as a Dementia Advisor in May 2021 after a long career in Thames Valley Police followed by a period as a full-time carer for her mother, who was diagnosed with dementia in 2015.

“I left my career with Thames Valley Police after making the decision to care for my mother.  We have always been close, and it gave me the opportunity to make sure she was getting the right care and attention whilst giving her the best life possible.  I made the difficult decision to move my mother to a care home when she reached the point of needing round the clock care, but I still wanted to have a positive impact on those affected by dementia and their loved ones.

After learning so much throughout my personal journey with caring for someone with dementia, my role now allows me to share this knowledge and understanding with other people who really need support, empathy and advice.”

Rose has a passion to improve care for dementia patients and help families that are dealing with the stress and difficulties that come with a diagnosis. Her passion drives her to ensure that those suffering with dementia can have the highest quality of life possible, and still experience the things that bring them happiness.
