Success for Bitesize Carer Education Pilot

2 minute read

On Tuesday 18th October, Dementia Oxfordshire held their first bitesize carer education session at Henley Manor Care Home. The session covered the common symptoms of dementia and allowed carers to share experiences and connect with others going through a similar journey in their local area.

The session ran alongside the monthly memory café held at Henley Manor Care Home, allowing carers to take part in the session whilst their cared-for was engaged in activity in a familiar environment. Many of the carers swapped contact details to continue providing on going peer support to each other.

The bitesize carer education sessions are based on our longer carer education sessions that take place over zoom and offer carers more ways to access carer education.

Our next bitesize carer education session will be held alongside the Making Memories group at Moorside Place, on Tuesday 22nd November from 2:15-3:15pm. We are looking at holding more sessions across the county in the future. Please email training@dementiaoxfordshire.org.uk for more information or to suggest a group or venue for future bitesize sessions.
