An app that uses a smart phone camera to look at a person’s face and analyse facial muscle movements indicative of pain. The PainChek app also provides a framework for the caregiver to observe and record pain related behaviours such as movement and how pain is vocalised by the person. With this information Painchek calculates an overall pain score.
This can help a caregiver to identify the presence and severity of pain in individual who can't verbalise or communicate the pain they are in.
